DIY Birthday Banner - Reasons I Love You

The most wonderful way to celebrate a loved one's birthday. And all you need are colourful tapes, string and paper. Everything else comes from the heart.

Mystery Birthday Party

My 9 year old daughter is so into spies, detectives and mysteries. So we decided to have that theme for her birthday celebration this year. The invitations came in folders with the party details. At the beginning of the party, each child received a detective kit consists of a magnifying glass, a note book ( I had 'top secret' printed on white paper and made this the cover ) and a pencil. These were used in the games where they had to decipher codes, read facts in minuscule fonts and test their concentration in the memory game. After completing the training and being awarded 'junior detective' badges, the kids had to solve the mystery in the form of a treasure hunt.

It was a lot of work but was all worth it.

Teacher's Day Gift Part 2

We were going to bake chocolate chip cookies for the teachers but just as I turned on the oven, the electricity tripped. Scrapped the baking idea and had to make do with store bought biscuits. I printed " You're 'Tea'rrific! " on yellow paper and re-labelled the tea bag tags. Repackaged the biscuits, and put everything into a white paper bag. Personalised each paper medallion by stamping each teacher's initial. I think they turned out nice. Hope the teachers like them. To all teachers, thank you for the hard work and Happy Teacher's Day!

Saturday Inspirations

I saved this worded artwork image like two years ago as an inspiration to diy one for our home. That never materialized. A week ago, I saw another similar piece done and I was thinking if she can do it, so can I. Now I just need to find the time and the 'push' to begin.

DIY Sofa

Our tv area has been sofa-less for the past 7 years. We just never bothered to get one. When I saw this on desire to inspire, I thought this self-made sofa is great. Just need a handy man to do it.
